Twenty two people who read the papers for a living.

Outkast started in 2014 in a flat in Lisbon, with one client, one phone and a list of forty editors. We still work from that list, it is just longer now.

Today we look after 38 fashion, beauty, food and design brands from two studios, Lisbon and Copenhagen, and pitch them to the titles people still finish on a Sunday.

What we hold to

• Read first. Before we pitch a title we read the last six issues, so we know what it runs and what it never will.

• Fewer, better names. Twenty editors who care beat two hundred who delete. Every list we send to is written by hand.

• Pick up the phone. An email is easy to ignore. Every pitch gets a call, and every call gets a note on what was said.

• Say no early. If a story will not land, we tell you in the first week, not in the third report.

• Two people, always. A director who sets the story and a lead who pitches it. You get their numbers, not a shared inbox.
