A glowing orange tent on a snowy plateau at dusk

We took twenty two writers to a plateau at minus thirty for one night in the tents. Nine national titles ran the story within a month.

The brief

Brunholt makes expedition tents by hand in Tromsø and wanted to launch a lighter model to people who camp, not just to people who climb. Every outdoor brand claims its tents are tested in the Arctic. Brunholt needed a way to prove it.

What we did

We invited twenty two writers from outdoor, travel and news desks to spend one night on a plateau outside Tromsø in February. Brunholt’s team pitched the tents with them, cooked dinner in the snow and stayed up through the night. The forecast said minus twenty. It reached minus thirty.

What ran

Nine national titles ran the story within a month, from news pages to travel supplements. Pre orders for the new tent sold out before it reached shops.
